Two ways to use RosterBound

RosterBound for college coaches.
  1. Request a curated prospect list. No account needed. Tell us who you're looking for and we'll send a short list of athletes with film, academics and measurables.
  2. Create a verified Coach account. Search athletes yourself, save prospects, send recruit requests and see private recruiting details.

Both are free. We focus on under-recruited talent for programs at every level, especially D2, D3, NAIA and JUCO.

1. Request a prospect list

Go to For College Coaches (rosterbound.com/college-coaches) and fill in the request form. Include:

  • sport and positions,
  • graduation years (or transfer eligibility),
  • regions or states,
  • academic minimums and any measurables that matter to you.

RosterBound staff reply with a short list. Every athlete on it has a public profile.

2. Get verified

The Coach Dashboard: verified status, Saved Prospects and Recruit Requests.
  1. Sign up at rosterbound.com and choose Coach.
  2. Under Pick your school and team, choose College coach, your sport and team, and search for your college. Click Save. Your school locks once saved.
  3. RosterBound staff verify you against your program's staff listing. You'll see Verified at the top of your dashboard.

Until you're verified, you can browse public profiles but not contact details, academics or schedules.

3. Find athletes

Find Your Next Recruit.

Click Athletes at the top. Search by name or school, or filter by:

  • sport, graduation year and state,
  • minimum GPA,
  • height and weight ranges,
  • achievements (All-Conference, All-State, Team Captain),
  • the athlete's preferred division and region.
Filters and an athlete card with badges.

What the badges mean

  • Film reviewed: RosterBound staff have watched the athlete's film.
  • Academics confirmed: staff have checked the athlete's academic information.
  • HS coach endorsed: the athlete's high school or club coach endorsed them, and staff confirmed the coach.
  • Verified by Coach on a single stat: the athlete's own coach confirmed that number. Every measurable also shows how and where it was measured (laser-timed, camp/combine, self-reported).

4. Evaluate a profile

An athlete profile, as a verified coach sees it.

The top of every profile shows the athlete's sport, position, school, class, badges and any coach endorsement. Below that: quick stats, academics, college preferences, film and sport stats.

Hudl highlight and private Recruiting Details.

As a verified coach you also see Recruiting Details: NCAA and NAIA IDs and status, core GPA, test scores, intended major, academic notes, contacts (athlete, parent or guardian and coaches) and the athlete's upcoming schedule. Verified coaches can also watch film the athlete has uploaded.

5. Save prospects and send recruit requests

  • Save on any profile adds the athlete to Saved Prospects on your Coach Dashboard (shown in section 2). Click again to remove them.
  • Download Resume gives you the athlete's one-page recruiting resume.
  • Recruit This Athlete sends a short message to the athlete and their family through RosterBound. Your requests and their status appear under Recruit Requests on your dashboard.
The recruit request form. Your name and email are filled in for you.

When you're signed in, your name, email and school fill in automatically, and you can edit them. If an athlete's profile is taken down, the request shows "Profile not available right now".

Athletes see that a coach from your school viewed their profile, but not your name.

6. Transfer athletes and the portal rule

RosterBound includes JUCO and four-year college transfers. Each one shows their current college, seasons of eligibility remaining and portal status. College stats are listed separately from high school stats.

Pre-portal athletes are hidden. If an athlete is at an NCAA Division I, II or III school and hasn't entered the transfer portal, they don't appear in search or prospect lists, and you can't send them a recruit request. You'll see: "This athlete hasn't entered the transfer portal yet. NCAA rules restrict coaches from discussing a transfer until they do." They become visible when they update their status to In the portal. JUCO and NAIA athletes aren't restricted.

FAQ

Is it free? Yes, for coaches, athletes and families. Athletes never pay to be seen.

How fresh is the data? Athletes update their own profiles, and RosterBound staff review each one before it's published. Every measurable shows when and how it was taken.

How are badges verified? Film and academic badges are set by RosterBound staff. Endorsements come from the athlete's coach and are approved by staff after confirming the coach. Stat badges are confirmed by the athlete's own coach.

Can I contact an athlete directly? Use Recruit This Athlete. Verified coaches can also see contact details in Recruiting Details. Follow your association's contact rules.
